I explored a while until I got stuck. Got to a point where I couldn't go forward any more. Seems there is a teleport option in the controls, but I couldn't find it. So Yes I am motion sick from trackpad gameplay right now. Would like to play this if they ever fix the motion and other problems.. I liked the idea of this game - exploration is what VR was made for but I played for an hour and got sick and bored. Firstly I have an Oculus and Teleportation DOES NOT work. The website claims it does, there's even a button for it but it does nothing. Continuous motion moving around is a recipe for motion sickness - that's why every other game uses (or at least offers) teleport. Also, the game is pretty dull. The environments are pretty bland and don't really give you any feeling of exploring. In any given environment all the areas look pretty much the same with just a couple of repeating objects, a chair, a screen etc. Think Duke Nukem 3D type enviroments rather than anything modern. I regret buying this, even on sale, and I really wouldn't waste your time or money.. crashed on my system with fatal errors. may work for you.. I play vive games every single day for my Youtube channel, but Alice VR was the first one to completely wow me. There is nothing like this game. Period. If youre worried about the initially negetive reviews, the graphical issue has been fixed. Actually, this is one of the most visually stunning VR games available. Looks good up close but view distance is garbage.. First impressions.It was fairly appropriate that after playing this for a little while (in flat screen mode) that I received a trading card called "Buggy Simulator 2048" because that`s exactly what this game is. If you So much as LOOK at a touch controller the game will crash, it works with ordinary controllers only and there are no plans to extend to touch controller support.Fairly ridiculous to say "Tailor-made for VR from the ground up - no compromises! " but fails to support the main Oculus rift input method, - I`d call that a pretty humongous `compromise`..It`s actually quite a battle to get the game to even start in VR mode - I`m playing a lot of it in flat screen mode purely because the program itself seems to choose how it wants to start and I`m too lazy to debug it.However,From what I`ve seen so far (and I haven`t played a huge amount yet), the puzzles aren`t too taxing and it`s a relaxed sort of game, (which is ok by me as I enjoy this genre of game). The visuals are pleasing, (if a little repetitive so far) and its an enjoyable experience.So for now at least, it gets a thumbs up from me, especially as I received it as part of a very cheap bundle, (Thanks indiegala).Just a shame that the VR component is so messed up. By all means, buy this as an ordinary flat screen game, but if you`re looking for a great VR experience, well forget it, this isn`t it.. A beautiful game that utilizes teleportation and free movement. Some vehicle driving which did get me a little motion sick. Interesting use of perspectives and game mechanics.I purchased this game because I had just finished Solus Project and was looking for a similar game. For some reason this game didn't hook me as Solus Project did. Genres slightly different which may have been the cause (SP is walking sim, narative story, and survival while Alice is more walking sim, narative story, puzzler)Completed the game which is a plus for my review but in the end I'm recommending to wait for a sale and consider before buying.. I realized after I reach the driving part of this game that this was designed to be a seated experience masking itself to be room scale. Even though this was one of the VR games that impressed me graphically, always relying on Async Repro to get a smooth @ 200 supersampling is not the way to go (P.S: Got 980Ti)Since this was a seated experience, I can only play this game 15 minutes at a time before nausea kicks in (The driving part even accelerates the puking threshold). I refunded the game because I'm already having problems before the physics bending part of the puzzles which some people expressed problems with motion sickness, not only that, but this game seems to be veeerry slow paced (AKA: Boring) and very little to no action when I watched some playthroughs to what I can I expect next. I'll be honest though, I would have not initiate a refund if they made the driving at least use the 2 controllers to be like a steering wheel.Also I know the dev has stated that they will be implementing teleportation, but I doubt that will help on that upside down puke inducing puzzle part. I'll get this game again maybe after they implemented teleportation, but definitely not at full price when I bought it. I'll be waiting for the 66% discount sale.. NOTE ***OCULUS TOUCH CONTROLLERS ARE NOT SUPPORTED***I haven't been able to play this on my Oculus Rift so this review isnt about gameplay...its about incompatibility with Oculus Rift and Oculus Motion Tracking. I can see why some have felt the reference to 'Tracked Motion Controller' being supported on the store page is misleading Even tho the store page shows 'Track Motion Controllers' as supported i'm now guessing/realising this relates to Vive and NOT Oculus Touch Conrollers... :( Bought this on sale and was really looking forward to playing it.. but... It repeatedly crashed on the start screen whenever you press a controller button to 'Start'. Looked on fourms and it looks as tho its an issue with 'Touch' that the Dev doesn't intend to resolve (if what I read is correct).
